Nissan Outpaces 2012 Sales Total after November Record

Nissan_Rogue_083_2

Backed by record November volume, Nissan has finished the first 11 months of this year with more deliveries than for all of 2012. In fact, on a year-to-date basis, the brand’s 1,035,439 sales were ahead of last year’s pace by a full 10.7 percent once the books were closed on November. But while the division as a whole was good for a 96,197 sales last month, and garnered a 10.8 percent jump in deliveries, it’s the individual numbers that tell the real extent of Nissan’s November success.
In the hotly contested midsize sedan segment, for example, the 2014 Nissan Altima delivered a November record of 24,604 units, while increasing sales by 21.2 percent. Then, joining the Altima in the record books last month was the 2013 Nissan LEAF, which had its highest November sales total ever: 2,003 units delivered for a 30.1 percent jump in volume; that performance also extended the 2013 Leaf’s ongoing streak of sales records to eight for the year.
Among Nissan’s other top sales performers from the previous month:
  • Nissan Sentra, with sales up 62.5 percent on 11,664 deliveries
  • Nissan Maxima, maximizing its opportunities to the tune of a 52.4 percent spike in deliveries on 7,208 sales
  • Nissan Juke, jumping out to a 14.8 percent November gain with 3,446 sales
  • Nissan Frontier, surging ahead of last November’s sales mark by 54.6 percent with 6,003 sales
“Consumers’ strong demand for Nissan products continued last month, culminating in a very good Black Friday weekend and driving our sales performance to an all-time record November,” said Fred Diaz, divisional vice president, Sales and Marketing and Service and Parts, Nissan U.S.A. “Nissan has achieved record sales in eight out of 11 months in 2013 and with more than 1 million units sold, we have already outsold all of 2012.”

World’s Strongest Man champion pulls a dozen Nissan Note hatchbacks to set record

On December 1, Zydrunas Savickas, a five-time World’s Strongest Man champion, pulled 12 Nissan Notes (the equivalent to our Versa Note) weighing 28,530 pounds over 16.4 feet in 32.9 seconds. The feat, performed in Lithuania at the end of the country’s Car of the Year test camp, was enough to secure him the Guinness world record for “Most Cars Pulled By One Man.”
“Once I got into my stride pulling the 12 Nissan Notes, [it] was fine,” Savickas said after the pull. “Obviously, a big thank you to Nissan for helping me set the record and making it all happen.”
“We at Nissan like setting records and are always aiming high,” said Taina Erkkil
